How do you define a career - 2006/09/19 17:51
I often wonder if a hobby or something you don't get paid to do yet can be your "career." I have trouble separating my job from my personal goals and perspective achievements. For example I left a job that my former colleagues defined as their career to pursue personal/artistic projects. I'm having trouble giving my projects the proper time they need and am giving my part-time job more respect and time. I'm also having trouble getting over the fear of doing something for myself and defining myself by my work.
Old work ethics and learned behaviors die hard.
