Sadism. A Route To Happiness? - 2006/09/21 07:02
Hi,
I would describe myself as a mild sadist. 
It appears to me that one of the things I enjoy is seeing others suffer, only mild suffering.
Can I achieve happiness by pursuing this path whilst maintaining a strong ehtical stance, ensuring that others are not harmed?
Not as contradictory as it seems.
I can indulge my sadism by playing video games, watching films, and reading books. The suffering is either pretended or completely fictitious.
Can 'negative' emotions, properly controlled and carefully indulged be a route to hapiness?
